The "Max Planck Encyclopedia of European Private Law" was published in 2012 by Oxford University Press. It was released in two volumes and totals over 2,000 printed pages. The preface of the original edition with further remarks on the history of the printed volumes can be accessed here. Integration of the print version’s tables was not possible for Max-EuP 2012. However, the listings of abbreviations, court rulings, and legal sources and also the index are available as PDF files identical to the print version.

The Max Planck Encyclopedia of European Private Law, published as a print work in 2012, has been made freely available in 2021 as an online edition at <max-eup2012.mpipriv.de>.
